Civil War Diaries
The Civil War Diaries collection consists of three diaries kept by Civil War soldiers:
- B.F. James - 51st & 52nd Regular Tennessee Volunteers, Co. H. Diary entries from Nov, 1861- Apr, 187_?
- A.V. Amerman - 8th Michigan Cavalry, Co. E. Diary entries from Jul, 1863 - Feb, 1864.
- William H. Martin - 94th Illinois, Co. B. Diary entries from Nov, 1864 - Jul 1865.
The original B. F. James diary is owned by the Perryville Battlefield State Park, KY.
These diaries are part of a larger collection of Civil War Diaries in the NKU Special Collections Department. The collection consists of a mix of original diaries, and photocopies or transcripts of originals held elsewhere.

The diaries were digitized and transcribed in 2007-2008 thanks in part to grant funding from the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives.
